Introducing: Friends on NEOU
Your FitFam. Your team. Your squad. No matter what you call them, working out is better together. Inspired by the NEOU community we see showing up, encouraging, and cheering each other on -- we are excited to introduce the new Friends feature that allows you to connect with other members and instructors directly in the app!
We’re already friends, but let’s make it official. Here’s what you need to know:
What is Friends?
This new feature allows you to connect directly with other members, take classes together, view your friends’ and other members’ workout activities, share accomplishments, cheer each other on, and so much more. (fun, right?)
How do I find friends?
You can search for friends by either going to the Community tab and clicking “Add Friends,” or by clicking on a member’s avatar and sending them a friend request. As long as they accept, you just got yourself a new swolemate!
How does the feed work?
You can filter your feed to see just your friend’s workout activity by clicking “Only Friends” in the Activity tab. Keep up with what classes they’ve taken, see their accomplishments, “like” their workout activity to cheer them on, and book interactive workouts together! After all, friends who work out together, stay together!
What activity of mine can my friends see?
Achieving a badge
Starting a program or challenge
Booking a live NEO Us class
Earning the top spot on the leaderboard
What types of activity appear on the global feed?
The default view of the Activity tab shows the Global Feed. In addition to the individual achievements above shown in the global feed we also show:
Recently completed on-demand classes by all members
Completed NEO Us live classes with attendees
I want to opt-out of this feature. How do I change my privacy settings?
Your privacy is important to us, and we’ve made it easy for you to change your preferences. Please visit your account page in the app and select the Privacy tab to set your privacy.
How do I invite a friend that’s not a member to NEOU?
Great idea! Please go to Friends and then select the “Invite A Friend” button.
Can people see my profile if they are not friends with me?
No, people can only see your profile if they are your friend.
I want only my friends to see my activity, how do I remove myself from the global activity feed?
No problem! Please go to the Menu and then select Privacy to change Activity to “Friends only”
What information can people see about me?
People you have not approved as a “friend" can only see your avatar photo and username. You can change both of these at any time in your account.
When I try to use the feature, I get a message saying I’ve opted out of this feature and I need to change my settings.
Yes, if you’ve opted out of participating in Community, you will see this message if you try to use the features such as friending others, having friends, using “friends only” feed, etc. If you would like to use these features again, please go to Privacy and update your privacy settings.
